Heidi has lived in the desert for too long and it has baked her head. What she longs for are the green silences of the British Isles, or any of the German-speaking countries. How about Colorado? Maybe Alaska or Oregon. Or anywhere else cool and wonderful and full of life. She also loves the idea of Jane Austen nights with lots of dancing in Georgian Era dresses and bonnets.

So she finds an hour (or a day) here and there between writing, reading, dancing, swimming, teaching the dog to be human, reading, hiking, working for the Boy Scouts, playing tin whistle, reading, riding herd on a bunch of teen-aged hooligans, traveling, singing, sword-fighting, and reading, to disappear into other less oven-like worlds and hopes to carry you with her.
