Alan Paris O.D.

Alan Paris was born in Brooklyn, New York City on January 19, 1950. He is a practicing optometrist who has published in journals, written music, a children's story and adult fiction. The doctor holds a B.S. in Chemistry from Brooklyn College, a B.S. in Integrated Bioscience and a Doctorate of Optometry in the vision sciences awarded at the Pennsylvania College of Optometry in 1973 and 1975 respectively. He has studied developmental vision at the Gesell Institute of Human Development, now attached to Yale University in New Haven, Connecticut. He was also first solo trombonist in the Scottsdale Community Band for almost 30 years. This recent story follows such a fascinating eye doctor. They say to write about what you know.
