He believes powerful characters are more important than complicated words, clear messages matter more than literary flourish, and the Holy Spirit is the best writing partner an author can have. His stories are born from unexpected moments and divine inspiration. A chance meeting with a blind IRS agent inspired Blind Man's Run. A persistent nudge from the Lord became Bellarina and Geppetto's Dragon. His love for his son inspired Glorious, Guardian Angel. A creative partnership with a friend from church led to 3 Acre Beach and the whimsical adventures of the Stuffees. A friend's imprisonment inspired City of Cages, while his love for Scripture gave birth to books such as 39 Stripes and I Just Want My Prayers Answered. These are only a few of the many stories that have found their way from his imagination to the printed page. Countless other manuscripts—Westerns, adventures, family stories, and tales still waiting to be told—fill his files, patiently awaiting their turn.

D.W.'s writing journey began at sixteen years old when a high school English teacher unexpectedly awarded him an "A" on an essay. That encouragement changed the direction of his life. He became editor of his high school newspaper, studied journalism in the U.S. Air Force, edited a military base newspaper, worked for a daily newspaper, and wrote freelance articles published around the world. His career has included everything from newspaper reporting to public relations and even reviewing Las Vegas shows.

Today, D.W. writes wherever the Holy Spirit leads. He also helps other writers fulfill their calling by publishing true, compelling stories. He believes that great storytelling is not reserved for professional writers. Many authors have arrived with rough manuscripts and uncertain confidence, only to discover that their stories deserved to be told. D.W. enjoys helping transform unfinished manuscripts into polished books that can bless readers for generations.
