Peg Davis was raised on a farm near the small dtown of Abernathy, Texas she graduated from Abernathy High School in 1963 where she was active in athletics, band, and other school activities.
She received her Bachelor of Science degree from Hardin-Simmons University in Abilene, Texas in 1967, with majors in physical education and biology.
Davis taught school for 38 years, beginning in Petersburg, Texas. After moving to Lubbock, she taught at Lubbock High School for 25 years. While at LHS, she taught health. physical education and coached cross country and track. She also taught for 2 years at Hobbs High School in New Mexico.
Seeking a change, she went to Harwell Elementary, also in the Lubbock ISD, and taught elementary physical education to grades K - 6 until her retirement in 2006.
Davis was named to The Outstanding Young Women of America in 1979, Who's Who Among American Teachers in 1990, and Texas Secondary Physical Education Teacher of the Year in 1998.
Since retiring she enjoys reading, writing, sewing and traveling. She lives in Lubbock, Texas.
