Heather Ledeboer was itching to write from the time she was old enough to hold a pencil. Growing up in a home built by her lumberjack father, Heather began building in her own way; constructing sentences and paragraphs. At the tender age of six she filled out a form for the Institute of Children's Literature hoping to begin her career and write her first book. When she was denied due to her age, Heather was disheartened.
The dream did not die that day. She continued to write stories, journal and later blog. However, the book that was yet to be written did not begin to form until May 2008. It was then that Heather learned that her baby was no longer living and life took a sudden, abrupt turn at the end of her third pregnancy. In the painful days to come, a story slowly began to unfold revealing the refining side of grief. As Heather faithfully journaled the complex web of emotion and truth, seeds of hope and healing are planted. Joy begins to take root and grow as her story transparently unfolds in her book "Finding Joy in the Mourning: A mother's journey through grief to hope and healing".
