I've spent the better part of the last decade in humanitarian service, mostly advising philanthropic initiatives. The work took me from classrooms in Senegal to congressional offices on Capitol Hill. Each stop taught me something I couldn't have learned from a conference room. I live in Miami with my wife and our cat Kuma. Writing helps me make sense of what I've seen, and what it might mean for the rest of us.
