Dennis Herrell lives and writes in a 1920’s bungalow in an old historic residential part of Houston, Texas. Since 2001 Dennis has published about 500 poems in many U.S. journals
and magazines, and about 29 poems also in Canada, Great Britain, Australia, and Austria.
He writes both serious and humorous poems about his life in this civilized society.
(Poking fun at himself is almost a full-time job.) He especially likes to look at the small things in everyday life that make us (him) so individual and vulnerable.
A former teacher. Later a sporting goods wholesaler.
Then gift/card wholesaler. Then an antique dealer. Now retired.
During his last three years as a teacher, he wrote and sent out poetry,
with some poems published. Wrote poetry during his career in sporting goods,
but did not send out. Then in 1990's - while an antique dealer, he was more active in
writing. In the year 2000, on July 5, he started submitting his poetry again with some pleasing
results, and with many thanks to the editors for their time and consideration.
