Bill Downs

Bill Downs was born in Gulfport, Mississippi on October 21, 1961. He was raised in Saucier, Mississippi and currently resides in Saucier, Mississippi. Bill married his lovely wife Julie March 5, 1982. Their first born, Cindy was born December 8, 1982. Cindy was born moderately retarded, depending 100% on mom and dad. Their second born, Brad was born July 4, 1986. Brad was married June 22, 2007 to his lovely wife, Samantha. Bill and his wife allowed one of Brad's friends, Chris to move in with them in January 2007, and Bill and his wife came to love Chris like a son. On October 6, 2007 Brad, Samantha and Chris were killed by an impaired/drug and distracted driver. Bill promised his kids at their funeral that he would be their voice until his last breath. Bill asked God to provide a way to be their voice. One way was partnering with Lynda Cheldelin Fell, renown author and publisher and writing this book. This was a very difficult book for Bill to write because he had to put his grief aside and pour his heart into writing this book. Bill believes that God brought him and his wife to know Lynda so that they could reach out to other victims grieving a loss in order to support them and help them see that there is a way to survive great loss. Bill highly recommends this book to anyone that lost a love one and is grieving. The proceeds of this book will go towards a non profit called AVIDD - Advocates for Victims of Impaired/Distracted Driving that Bill, his wife and one other founded to support the victims of impaired/distracted driving. Bill and his wife are working on another book that should be released in the latter part of 2016.
