Bobbi Angell

Bobbi Angell is coauthor with James Costa for Darwin and the Art of Botany, published in October 2023. She also is author and artist of A Botanist's Vocabulary, co-authored with Dr. Susan Pell. She has been drawing plants for botanists around the world since 1978. Much of her work is done from herbarium specimens at The New York Botanical Garden, but tropical field work and extensive gardening at her home in New England contribute to her diverse knowledge of plants and enhance her depictions. Illustrations have been published in Orchid Flora of the Greater Antilles, Flowering Plants of the Neotropics; Vascular Plants of Central French Guiana; Vines and Climbing Plants of Puerto Rico, and Intermountain Flora as well as The New York Times 1000 Gardening Questions and Answers and memoirs including Sippewissett, Flying Blind, Our Life in Gardens and To Eat.
