Wian is a grade 6 student and together with his family, relocated to the USA in 2009. Today they are dual citizens of the USA and South Africa.

Storytelling was always a fun pastime habit in the family and while mom Magdalena Liesl embarked on her career as an author, Wian inspired his dad to assist him in writing his first novel, Trials in the Jungle. Mom also contributed in the writing of Trials of the Jungle, when she was not too busy with her own writing project or to support the authors with motivation, coffee, and love.

Wian is an avid sports fan, snowboarder and outdoorsman, keeping active in team sports, involved in both Rugby as well as American Football programs.

Together with his older siblings they make an annual effort to spend time in nature and on the ski slopes.

Wian and his mom and dad live in Charlotte, North Carolina.
