GRAMMY music educator award nominee, Jetro da Silva born in Meier, Rio de Janeiro, February 28, 1967. At the young age of 16, da Silva became the sole supporter of his family by playing with world-renowned musicians and his church in Rio de Janeiro.
After touring with several Brazilian artists, da Silva moved to Boston to extend his music education at Berklee College of Music, majoring in Music Production and Engineering. A few years later, he decided to pursue his theological studies at Andover Newton Theological School in Boston, MA. His lifelong curiosity and thirst for learning led him to study Anglican Studies at the General Theological Seminary in New York.
After 13 years as Assistant Chair of the Piano Department and professor in the ensemble department at the prestigious Berklee College of Music in Boston, Jetro moved to Los Angeles, California, where he currently resides with his family.
Da Silva's experience as a keyboardist, producer and arranger has increased his opportunity to work with artists, such as Whitney Houston, Stevie Wonder, BB King, Prince, Patti Labelle, Chaka Khan, Emilio Santiago, Earth Wind and Fire, Pastor Andrae Crouch,The Pointer sisters, Gladys Knight, Sheila E., Namie Amuro and more.
