Shian Serei

Shićn Serei is an American author of romance novels and children’s books. His collective works also include short plays, magazine articles and award winning short films. Shićn, pronounced ‘shon’ was raised in England before relocating to the United States. He currently resides in Las Vegas and has two children. Shićn is an avid supporter of children’s charities, community projects and the International Peace & Film Festival.

Romance Novels:

His research for the 5 Part series: The Kingdom of Meridian, was based on his early years living in Yately and his trips to the Russian Federation where he met the inspiration for the characters. Shićn also conducted interviews with hundreds of East Europeans from Russia, Ukraine, Estonia, Belarus, and Moldova to gain insight into the subtleties of their culture and habits.

Childrens' Books:

The Bear & Bee Bedtime Rhymes for children were developed from Serei's experiences as a father. He struggled with getting his kids to go to bed and stay in bed until he began playing guitar for them each night. The result became a nightly ritual which continued for several years. The books include links to the acoustic music Shian played over the years and feature a rhyming story that can be read to a choice of songs from slow to upbeat.

The message of the stories is meant to address the idea of 'normal' while young children are learning about life. As parenting and home situations are not the same for many, the theme of being loved, by whomever a child calls their parent, is the only normal in the world. Ideally, this can help build an understanding for children in nontraditional homes or the homes of their young friends.
