Bill Johns

Bill Johns has always been an outdoor enthusiast. He and his wife, Barb, have traveled extensively in their RVs and have also lived abroad in Japan and Germany. Their hunger for travel and new adventures has never diminished.

Bill enjoyed a career as a Russian Linguist, Intelligence Expert, and Satellite Applied Research and Development consultant. He has owned his consulting company, Bearstone Consulting, LLC, since 2003 and still dabbles in the field.

But after a career spanning over 40 years working mostly in buildings with no windows, Bill and Barb decided enough was enough. It was time to get outside and pursue those dreams they had been dancing around and testing for years.

One of those dreams was to take a shot at campground hosting in a national park. They believed they wanted to spend an entire season in one of the parks. Bill and Barb hoped to give something back to our National Park System and to help everyone from every country who visit American Parks have the very best experience they could possibly have.

Together they embarked on this dream when they accepted jobs as campground hosts in Lizard Creek Campground in the incredibly beautiful Grand Teton National Park. Their expectations were far surpassed in this experience in many ways, not the least of which were the many unexpected challenges they faced.

Now Bill and Barb are well along in their journey to even more great adventures – Beyond Lizard Creek.
