Rachael Cole

Rachael Cole is a children's book writer, illustrator and surface designer. She is also the art director for Schwartz & Wade Books, a children's book division within Random House Children's Books, and is part of Ladies Drawing Night, now a book co-authored with illustrators Leah Goren and Julia Rothman.

Rachael lives in Fort Greene, Brooklyn, with her husband and moon loving son. They enjoy taking evening walks to see the moon, which is where the idea for CITY MOON germinated. Rachael and her son also currently love to learn about scientific topics like; where does the wind come from?

Rachael is an active member of the illustration community, having served on the board of ICON7 —The Illustration Conference, the American Illustration and Society of Illustrators juries, and has taught courses in Children's Book illustration at the School of Visual Arts.
