Nina K. Bissett

Nina Bissett was born in a small southern Indiana town as the youngest of six children. Each of her siblings added to her deep interest in writing. One sister, drawing pictures to which she added her own imaginative stories, patterned the way for Bissett's own love for reading and writing and drawing. Using her older brother and four older sisters' school textbooks, she proceeded to teach algebra and Spanish to her diversified and extremely well-behaved students. Her class consisted of twenty some sewed animals and dolls which her mother had made for her. With an intense, yet colorful imagination, her fledgling desire to teach others continued throughout the following years. And without surprise to her family and friends, she entered college destined to find a satisfying and passionate career in teaching.

Since that time she has experienced the joy of serving young people of all ages in both public schools and Christian schools as a teacher and administrator along with experience as a program director and therapist through the National Institute for Learning Development. She holds a BA in Education from David Lipscomb University in Nashville, Tennessee; a MA in Christian School Administration from Grace College in Winona Lake, Indiana; and an EdD in Higher Education Administration and Teaching from Regent University in Virginia Beach, Virginia.

She has taken her joy and experience of working with children and adults of all ages (yes, including dolls and stuffed animals!) and now shares with them her gift of writing.
