I am a migraine sufferer who, after 20 years finding no relief from prescriptive migraine medication, began to ask questions about previously unconsidered factors that may have been contributing to the ever-increasing frequency and severity of the migraines I suffered.
I began by looking into the most basic of all human needs- food; where I saw trends suggesting the ingredients in the foods of my daily diet, might be affecting my health.
I had never before considered the possible side-affects of the long lists of additives and preservatives on the food labels of every packaged product at the supermarket or wondered why they were there and what purpose they served. Could they have been part of the reason migraines were becoming more and more of a problem in my everyday life?
The ensuing research resulted in the creation of the book, The Migraine Diet, A Beginner's Guide to Migraine Management.
I want to share the information I gathered and bring awareness and relief to those who may be new to migraine.
A short excerpt from the book (and my life):
"At the height of my migraine struggles, I was hospitalized due to symptoms resembling stroke, including disrupted vision, numb limbs, confusion and difficulty with speech. These symptoms were replaced by unbearable head pain and uncontrollable vomiting...[At the time], I believed...my diet could not affect, positively or negatively, the frequency or intensity of the migraines I suffered. I look back now and think how could I have been so wrong?"
