The Authors

Together Dr. Grant and Mr. Collins bring a mix of academic rigor and real world experience to their work. It is this combination that they believe is necessary to truly change the ongoing cycle of disappointment which has characterized the traditional approach to IT. It is not enough to develop theories. They must be challenged by the facts of the organizational reality. Equally, it is not enough to devise pragmatic solutions. They must provide ongoing and sustainable returns. This Yin and Yang of academia and practice is the cornerstone of their work.

The authors have spent years speaking to IT, financial and business leaders about how they invest in technology, their expectations and their results. The work has been critiqued and refined by CIOs, CFOs and Line of Business executives in a variety of industries. They continue to speak at conferences and provide professional development both as a means to communicate their ideas and to continue to hone the models and practices they advocate.
