Catherine Weiss

Catherine Weiss writes from one simple belief: deep down, a mother can be trusted. She can be trusted because she is the divine, living through her as her. Catherine has experienced this herself and shares her experience in her first book, The Present Mother: How to Deepen Your Connection with the Present Moment, Yourself, and Your Child — a book that grew out of her own practice of quieting the self-critical thoughts that can pull a mother out of the present moment with her child, and finding, underneath them, her divine, calm presence.

Catherine's work began in 2008, with her first workshop, "Parenting in the Here and Now," at the Open Mind Center in Roswell, Georgia. She is a Certified Parent Educator, a Teacher of Presence trained through the Eckhart Tolle School of Awakening, and a Certified Empathic Listener. In the years since, through her book, her workshops, her coaching practice, and the community she's built online, Catherine has helped thousands of parents in 43+ countries around the world find a steadier, more trusting relationship with their children.

The Present Mother carries a foreword from Dr. Shefali Tsabary, 3x New York Times bestselling author of The Conscious Parent, and has been praised by Barbara Nicholson and Lysa Parker, co-founders of Attachment Parenting International, and Peggy O'Mara, former publisher of Mothering Magazine. Catherine now works as a consultant in the fields of conscious parenting, self-directed learning, and adult self-inquiry, and speaks at parenting conferences, women's leadership events, and mindfulness retreats. She and her husband live near Boulder, Colorado, close to their two adult children, both in college nearby.
