Martin Lucas

Martin Lucas is a filmmaker with a career spanning more than thirty years from "Tighten Your Belts, Bite the Bullet: New York, Cleveland and the Financial Crisis of America's Cities" (New York Film Festival, 1980) to his latest, "Hiroshima Bound" (2015), a meditation on America's collective memories of the atomic bomb. Martin has taught in community media centers from Siberia to Southern Africa and currently teaches documentary production, history and theory at Hunter College of the City University of New York, where he is the former director of the Integrated Media Arts MFA Program. He speaks regularly on documentary and documentary pedagogy and has organized several conferences on issues related to documentary culture and the future of the documentary form.
