Claire Millikin

I am a poet and scholar. I teach for the Art History program at the University of Virginia. My poems have been nominated twice for the Pushcart Prize, my second book of poetry, Motels Where We Lived, was a finalist for the 2015 Maine Literary Award in poetry. In 2015, my poem "Atlantic" was award the Lois Prize, by CALYX. I grew up in Georgia (USA), North Carolina, and overseas. After earning my doctorate at the Graduate Center of the City University of New York, and before coming to Virginia, for many years I lived in rural coastal Maine.
