Delighted that the third Almond novel is now available! Early responses have been embarrassingly good. It's a developing story, and getting richer book by book. Thank you all for the wonderful comments!
I was born in Leeds in the UK in the wonderful county of Yorkshire, and for many years have lived in East Yorkshire on the Humber estuary. I've lived in many English towns, mostly Brighton, and in Africa.
I've been a teacher, broadcaster, playwright, screenwriter, fiction writer, lecturer and computer programmer.
My writing for TV includes several Play for Todays, series such as Hazell, Shoestring, Maybury, Boon, The Bill, Moon and Son, Bergerac, Tucker's Luck and soaps EastEnders and Emmerdale. My screenplay "Thank You Comrades," starring Ben Kingsley and Connie Booth, was nominated for a BAFTA Best Play award in 1978.
Many of my science fiction stories have been published in UK SF magazine Interzone, and three have been re-published in Best of the Year anthologies. I have released a Kindle and print edition collection of many of them, including one never published before. You can find those on Amazon.
I usually begin stories sitting at a taverna on the beach in my favourite village on the beautiful Greek island of Corfu - Agios Stefanos NW,
My detective/thriller "Almond: and the deep blue sea" is set in the village. Almost all the locations are real. You can enjoy the wonderful food and the wonderful beach. And, at last, I have finished the sequel: "Almond and the Missing Hero," which continues Johnny's adventures in the sun and the dangerous shadows.
