E. Marie Hall

Marie is the 4th of 8 children born to a single mother, one of 25 born to a man she never knew. Marie was adopted by her aunt and uncle Elsie and Elijah Howard at the age of 2. They became her parents. And all that she is, she owes to them. She spent most of her childhood years in South Phoenix.

Marie lost her birth mother when she was 12 years old and the only sister she knew and loved, 14 years later. Both were victims of domestic violence. To say that this was devastating would be an understatement. Marie was left in a state of total disbelief and for many years felt certain their fate would someday-- be hers.

One day while listening to a CD from her son Quentin, she literally had an epiphany. With tears flowing, she realized she had found her passion: to empower, inspire, and motivate others. The speaker was Mr. Jim Rohn--the year was 2009. While the transition has not been easy, quitting has never been an option. With a burning passion to make a difference she became a member of the Speakers’ Bureau for the AZ Coalition to End Sexual and Domestic Violence. In that capacity she presented for the Maricopa Association of Governments, the Women of Color Summit and numerous other trainings/events. She was also a discussant in former AZ Congresswoman, Gabrielle Giffords’ Protect All Women Tour event in Arizona. As an advocate for domestic violence she has traveled to New York and Washington, DC. Marie was selected as an Arizona representative to speak with members of Congress and their staff and attend the first ever hearing on women and violence.

Marie has gone from tragedy to triumph. It has been a journey of pain, patience, and progress. She is an award winning speaker who realizes her purpose is to passionately empower others through speaking and writing. Helping others transform their lives is her calling.
