Edward Gleeson

Edward Gleeson has been a student and teacher of American History for fifty years. His first

teaching assignment came in the 8th grade when he was asked to cover the Civil War by his teacher. By that time he had already written his first book length fiction, a novella about a modern day Tom Sawyer.

Fascinated by the scope and drama of America's past, he continued writing through his public school career and into his college years. Along the way he picked up the guitar and added music to his growing list of aspirations. He also acted in over a dozen college and community theater productions.

After decades of submitting his literary efforts to agents and publishers and finding none that had a place on thier list for him, he turned to Createspace in order to give readers handy access to his work. He currently has five novels available on Amazon; three are historical fiction, each taking a unique look at the Civil War, one dealing with the trials and tribulations of a film critic who is responsible for the production of an Indie film, and a novel that deals solely with the John Kennedy assassination.

Not content to merely invent fictional characters and situations, he uses humor and irony and his background in the arts and history to create unforgettable characters and events that crackle with realism and authenticity. He currently resides in New Port Richey, Florida with his cat Abbey and many memories.
