Aline Waites, actor, director, producer and theatre reviewer has been writing ever since she was old enough to hold a pen. But as she has had a lifetime in theatre, A Thing Called Joe is her first novel she has been brave enough to let people read, but with her partner Robin Hunter she has written and produced some 25 musical plays and revues. She has three more novels waiting in the pipeline all with a background of theatre and creative endeavours. Early in her career was well known for her role as the daughter of Mrs Dale in Mrs Dale's Diary on Radio twice daily. Many other Radio and TV appearances. Started her own company in 1969 and created the first completely professional fringe company at the Pindar Theatre in Grays Inn Road (later The Water Rats) with several shows running at other venues at the same time. Has produced her shows in France, Germany, Sweden and Denmark - British Columbia, Alberta, Washington State, Oregon, and California as well as Theatres in London and the Provinces. Was trained at the Webber Douglas Academy and she has an hons lit degree from the Open University.
