Angel A Cristobal

I was born in the city of Santa Clara, Cuba, in the center of the island. My parents were from Asturia, Spain, and the Canary Islands. Although I had a very active childhood, I always liked books and visited school libraries in search of classic tales of the Brothers Grimm. And of course, my favorite book was La Edad de Oro by Jose Marti. I studied Philology and Linguistic at the Central University of Las Villas, and finished a post grade in Journalism at the Central University of Venezuela. My first job was as editor in the colleges magazine Islas. Then began designing covers for Ediciones Capiro, and in 1993 I edited 12 booklets for Coleccion Escambray. After a political disappoint with Cuban government, I left my natal country in April 1998 and went into exile in Venezuela, where I worked as a journalist in Editorial Dearmas, an later as editor in Mayor of Caracas, National Congress and finally in the National Library of Venezuela. In 2004 I founded Letras Latinas Publishing and in 2010 the newspaper South Press International. I have published about 40 books in paperback format, about various topics, such as: biographies, puzzles and mysteries, arts, linguistic and Latin-American studies. My pride is that several of these titles are part of catalogs in the Library of Congress of the United States, and 23 American universities. I'm living now in USA and I hope you like my books.
