Glenn Oleksak

I grew up in suburban New Jersey. After high school, I rode freight trains around the country and worked odd jobs to support myself. When I finally got the wildness out of my system, I settled back down where I started from.

Back Now is my first novel and it is a culmination of my real-life travel experiences, the real-life recurring dream described in the book, and the real-life experience of finding of the dream location.

I'd always wanted to write about my experiences while "on the road", but I was never sure if the experiences would stand as compelling story solely on their own merit. How to describe the complex feeling one experiences out on the streets? How to describe the reasons that a person would run off in their own "self imposed exile?" It was the day I sat at the dream location that I came up with the idea of combining the dream with reality into a fictional novel.
