Mr. John Craig Shaw

John Craig Shaw is a retired geologist. He lives on a coastal river that empties into Mobile Bay in Alabama. He is an avid sailor and believes strongly in conserving the earth's natural environment. His B.S. Degree in Geology is from the University of Alabama with graduate study in Oceanography at the University of Hawaii. He has a small cabin in the Sangre de Cristo Mountains of New Mexico where he has written his two memoirs and his latest novel, Toward the Throne! (2015).

“Life and Times of a Wayward Geologist” was my first book. The print is large and the chapters are short and very easy to read. If you are a Geologist, I think you would enjoy the stories. My second memoir that I consider a better written book has a strange title: “A 1961 Voyage through the Big Creek Wilderness, or Why I should (not) have voted for George Wallace”. This is as a paperback only. The same as an ebook has a different title and cover with color photos: “Life Voyages”.

My third book sells as a paperback or an ebook; a short novel titled “Toward the Throne”, a fantasy novel based on Bible prophecy. Although based on what is considered Bible prophecy, the adaptation is somewhat humorous with outlandish scenes that portray what could happen during the “End Times”. A Kirkus review is available.
