Jaynay Chanel Johnson, whom herself was a troubled teen, found solace in dreaming of a better tomorrow. Jaynay’s innate desire to uplift and help those in need for the betterment of tomorrow’s leaders led her to begin this initiative. In addition, Jaynay’s purpose is to not only help today’s generation of teenagers, but their families as well. Her exceptional talents to recognize and relate to individuals from different walks of life, seeking knowledge and positive influences, drove Jaynay to give back to the community and pursue a career in psychology.
Born and raised in Newark, NJ, she received her Bachelors of Science degree in Psychology from Delaware State University and Masters of Arts degree in Marriage and Family therapy from La Salle University. Following graduation, she decided to use her talent, information, and pain to improve the lives of teens so they would not have to endure the same pain she suffered. Being a "troubled teen", she learned ways to manage her environment and conquer her dreams. Jaynay wants to provide therapeutic tools to build a bridge teenagers and healthy choices.
Jaynay has facilitated numerous events focusing on teens and their families. The topics of each appearance varied from mental health, teen dating violence, healthy relationships, family dynamics and more. Jaynay published her first book book entitled Dear Teen Self in 2015 where she shares her personal story growing up as a teen. Jaynay has been featured on a plethora of media outlets highlighting her contribution to the community and teens. Along with teen events, Jaynay has had multiple radio appearances, is a contributing writer for BOSS magazine, spearheads charity events, raised thousands of dollars for college scholarships, is an avid volunteer and mentor to many.
Jaynay hopes to help teens and their families rewrite their narrative by providing therapeutic education and compassion. Her one of a kind keep it real style mixed with dramatizations make you laugh and allows you to feel comfortable even through those tough conversations.
