Bernard D. Bull

Dr. Bernard D. Bull is an educator, scholar, and university president with decades of experience in education, ethnographic research, consulting, new program and product development, futures and forecasting, and leadership. He focuses on navigating the challenges and opportunities of faith, life, learning, and leadership in the modern world. As an ethnographic researcher, designer, and educator, Bernard explores what it takes to create faithful and flourishing schools and learning communities, sparking mission-minded innovation in education.

In addition to his role as President of Concordia University, Nebraska, Bernard is the founder of the Moonshot Institute, a platform dedicated to advancing bold, transformative ideas in education. Through this initiative, he offers thought partnership to leaders, researchers, startups and established education companies, P-20 schools, professional associations, think tanks, policymakers and innovators exploring the future of learning and leadership in diverse contexts, from traditional institutions to experimental models.

When not leading or writing, Bernard enjoys playing guitar, reading, working out, crafting Telecaster-style guitars, and embracing the mindset of a constant novice. Whether learning a new language, exploring a new craft, or acquiring a new skill, he thrives on the joy and challenge of experimentation and discovery in education, faith, and leadership.
