Larry Austin was born and raised in Bergen County, NJ. During his childhood and teen years, summers were spent traveling cross country with his family. Especially fond memories were made on his uncle's large dairy farm in Kansas, where he learned about raising plants and animals for food, as well as how to defend against predators, how to cook for a crowd, ride horses, shoot rifles and drive tractors. Larry received a Bachelor of Arts degree in English/Education from William Paterson University in 1976, taking many classes in literature. Creative writing and playing music have been passions since childhood. Instead of a career teaching, Larry found a creative outlet - and his livelihood - singing and playing bass guitar in numerous bands over a thirty year period. The last twelve years of his life as a full time musician were spent playing Irish music in various venues, including backing up James Galway at Grand Central Station in NYC one St. Patrick's Day. In the 1990s Larry decided to further his education and received a Master's in Social Work from Fordham University in NYC. He is currently living on Cape Cod with his wife, and is practicing as a psychotherapist specializing in PTSD. Creative writing has long been a hobby, and, as a writing exercise started six years ago, Larry began writing the book that would eventually become the seventh and last book of the Seer Series. After completing that novel, he realized there was a lot of backstory to tell. Hence, the series covers three generations of the Macalister family over the course of fifty years. Seer: Seer Series Book One was released in March 2016. It is Larry's first published novel.
