Raquel C Hunter

Raquel Hunter, a Saint Louis native, navy veteran, wife and mother believes it takes great stories with positive reflective main characters to cultivate great readers and confident leaders. Inspired by her daughter’s passion for reading, Hunter decided to write down her daughter’s family filled adventures of growing up in the Midwest to provide young readers with diverse, relatable, humorous, grit and substance filled stories to encourage literacy and boost healthy problem solving skills. Utilizing her Social Work degree earned from the University of Missouri, Hunter provides the most inspiring youth literacy workshops children of community organizations and elementary schools. Brave Rave Book Series provides an open invitation to all schools and community organizations to participate in the “Keep Reading Keep Writing” youth workshop (ages 8-12) which assists youth participants win finding interest in literature, developing and expressing their voices, learning the process of writing and publishing a book . All in hopes of creating a wave of young diverse authors of diverse reads.
