An ex-English teacher, graduate of the University of Oregon (Honors College) and University of Utah (Ph.D.) and Fulbright scholar, I’ve appeared in magazines as diverse as Playboy’s Oui, Michigan Quarterly Review, Descant (winner of the 1984 Frank O’Connor Award), Woman’s World (mini-mystery), Amazing Stories (film reviews and fiction), Princeton Review, Crosscurrents and The Writer. Although I’ve written over 30 novels in the past 47 years, The Magic Cape Caper was the first novel published in 2017 for the mystery series featuring wise-cracking detective Nick Christmas and his charming aide Randi (“Miranda”). Search for the Golden Diamond of Kolimar followed in 2018,Recovering the Nude in 2022, Escape from Haven Falls to appear in early 2025. Short SF stories became available for Kindle in 2022-- "Best End of the World Ever" and "The Lumerian Diaspora" as well as a romantic horror novella, "Sylphie." A witty romantic novel, "Taxing Passions," is now available as of April 2024 as an ebook and paperback.
