I live close to the Yarra river in Melbourne, Australia, with my family and our animals.
Writing and storytelling are an important part of my life, whether it’s telling the stories myself, or collecting them from others, words have power and I love using them.
I have written and edited for numerous parenting publications and was the co-publisher of Barefoot Magazine for three years. I’m the author of a non-fiction book for mothers, “Mama’s Word” and my debut novel for young adults, “Ora’s Gold” came out in August 2016. I started it when I was training to be a doula/birth attendant five years ago. The main character, Ora, just arrived one day when I was recovering from the flu. It's been a roller-coaster ride, writing her into being and I'm thrilled she's now out in the world.
My other passion is movement, with a focus on mindfulness and embodiment. One day, I dream of combining these two passions and offering a workshop full of writing and dance!
