Todd Hawk

Todd Hawk has over 20 years of experience teaching middle school math at a variety of public schools. Todd's teaching style is a blend of traditional instruction, project based learning and gamification. He has been awarded the Licking County (Ohio) "Leaders in Learning Award" and has been a speaker at the Ohio Council of Teachers of Mathematics Conference.

In addition to his current teaching duties, Todd is also the founder of the Land of Math LLC, which is devoted to helping parents and teachers help students learn about math.

He is the author of the following books: Ultimate Percentage Guide with Printable Activities: In depth guide with 30 printable puzzles, games & activities, the 7th Grade Math Common Core 24, The Cereal Box Project: A middle school math project, Finding Area of Unique Shapes: Finding the Area of Unique Geometric Shapes, and 1st Grade Math Survival Guide: Surviving and Thriving in 1st Grade Math.

In addition to teaching, Hawk has over 20 years of basketball coaching experience at the high school and college levels. Three of his teams have reached the state tournament. He has received a variety of coaching awards including the Times Reporter Prime Time Basketball Coach of the Year.

Todd has a degree in journalism from Ohio University, a degree in education from the University of Toledo and a masters in education from Ashland University.

Previous to teaching, Todd worked for Nike Inc. in Beaverton, Oregon and as a newspaper advertising director.

Todd lives in Zanesville, Ohio with his wife, 2 kids, 1 dog and 1 cat.
