Steve Hooley

Steve Hooley is a physician/writer. He has published seven short stories in four anthologies, his father's memoirs, and is currently working on a middle-grade fantasy series, Mad River Magic.

THE HEMLOCK APERTURE is the first book of the Mad River Magic series, a middle-grade fantasy set in rural Western Ohio.

THE TETRA-CHROME SPIRAL-SKYWAY is the second book in the Mad River Magic series. The magic occurs in a giant DNA molecule above the Mad River Valley.

CRYPTOFLUX CALCIUM CAPER is the third book in the Mad River Magic series. The adventure takes place in a large caverns along the Mad River Valley.

HEART BRAIN 180 is the fourth book in the Mad River Magic series. The story plays out in a giant circulatory system inhabited by giant chess pieces and playing cards.

UNITED WE STAND, DUDE! is the fifth book in the Mad River Magic series. The adventure takes place in the skin and subcutaneous world.

PERFECT STRAND is the sixth book in the Mad River Magic series. The story takes place in a giant Nautilus shell and is centered around the Vid religion.

OUT OF THE STORM, a collection of short stories by winners of the first "Storming the Short Story" contest, contains one of Steve's stories.

DANCING UP A STORM, the second Storms contest anthology contains two of his stories.

FAITH LIKE A MUSTARD SEED, third in the Storms contest anthology contains one of Steve's stories

CHILDHOOD REGAINED, a charity anthology to raise money for and awareness of child labor in Asia, contains three of Steve's stories, written at the invitation of the editor, Jodie Renner.

Steve lives with his wife, Cindy, in rural western Ohio. They have five children and nine grandchildren. When not writing, he makes legacy pens and takes care of his enchanted forest.
