Umut Durak

Umut Durak is currently participating in Flight Dynamics and Simulation Department of German Aerospace Center (DLR) Institute of Flight Systems as a Research Scientist. There, he conducts simulation engineering research on application of model based methodologies in flight simulators and flight simulator validation and verification. Along with that, he is offering graduate level courses on simulation in TU Clausthal, Department of Informatics as an adjunct lecturer. He received his BS, MS and Ph.D. degrees in Mechanical Engineering from METU. In last 15 years, he contributed various research and development projects and managed to publish more than 40 papers in national and international conferences, workshops and journals. He is a member of the Society for Computer Simulation International (SCS), Arbeitsgemeinschaft Simulation and the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA). And, he is a part of AIAA Modeling and Simulation Technical Committee and editorial teams of the Journal of Defense Modeling & Simulation and the International Journal of Modeling, Simulation, and Scientific Computing.
