Lavondia Aleem was born in Birmingham, Alabama. She has 6 children.
Lavondia Aleem attended Tuskegee Institute, Tuskegee, Alabama. While raising her family, she found the time to create many adventurous stories about animals and vegetables from her imagination. Her children often begged her to read and tell more of her stories while keeping them in awe. Her first story "Cricket" was published by "On the Line" magazine. She was a frequent writer for "The Voice" magazine of Atmore, Alabama. As a guest, her stories were read on WUWF radio in Pensacola, Florida. She has visited schools, libraries and college events.
