Dr. Siegfried Haug

The backcover of my book features a professional biography.

It is easy to view it.

Here I want to update you on what has happened since the book was published.

From a sleep-research point of view, the most significant finding concerns blue light. As in: light from TVs, and virtually all electronic devices.

For millennia light in the blue spectrum has signaled to he human brain: midday. When our eyes look at blue light, the brain's clock is being reset and our end-of-day output of melatonin curtailed or stopped altogether.

Melatonin is our one and only dedicated sleep hormone. Without it you will not feel drowsy. If you have problems falling asleep, stop using electronic devices two hours before you go to bed - and do not look at any screens during the night. (Small screens force the eye to focus even more.)

On a lighter note, my book BAD SLEEP, a Novel of Intrigue should be out soon. There a natural sleep Doctor takes on drug companies.
