Steve Kovacs

Steve has been a police officer, supervisor, trainer and was tactically trained by The FBI, FBI Hostage Rescue Team and LAPD SWAT. He was awarded 'The J.Edgar Hoover Foundation Award' for Fidelity, Bravery and Integrity. For nearly a decade, he was a part-time adjunct college instructor teaching security, investigations and criminal justice. Steve's also taught numerous individuals self-defense, personal safety, street survival and is considered a martial arts expert. Steve has been a victim of violent crime several times as a youngster. As an eight year old, he was literally seconds away from death from the actions of a criminal.

Steve has published hundreds of articles on a wide variety of topics and is the author of 'Protect Yourself: The Simple Keys Women Need to be Safe and Secure' and 'Protect Your Kids! The Simple Keys to Children's Safety and Survival.' In addition, for about seven years, Steve hosted 'The Kovacs Perspective' Internet TV and radio talk show where he interviewed experts, authors and interesting people.

Presently, Steve owns one of the oldest martial art schools in Ohio, The Mayfield Academy of Self Defense.
