Zaneta Hong

Trained in landscape architecture, industrial design, and sustainable food systems, I center my teaching and research on material ecologies and restorative design practices. My work investigates the intersections of materials, systems, and environments - guided by innovation, critical inquiry, and a deep empathy for our shared spaces.

Recently, my focus been expanded to include edible ecologies and cultural foodscapes. I examine landscapes of extraction and production - from agricultural fields to domestic kitchens - and explore how objects, rituals, and traditions of cultural (re)production shape our relationship with the environment.

A few of my favorite foods - coffee, whisky, kimchee, and crabs - reflect who I am. Each carries a story, and together they represent a layered connection to my place, memory, and identity.
