Leo was born an astrological Leo in 1949 in Callicoon, New York, a hamlet in the Southern Catskill Mountains. This was also the birthplace of Frederick Cook, the first explorer to reach the North Pole on April 21,1908. Skilled at blue collar labor, educated in white collar finance, a lifetime competitive athlete and proficient hunter and fisherman, Leo has achieved a plethora of accomplishments throughout his life. The fourth of five offspring of a rugged German farm boy and a sassy New York City Irish lass, its no wonder that he ended-up a hard working storyteller with a humorous, sarcastic wit. He mimicked his parents' work ethic and values system then passed those character traits to his two daughters, Leigh and Ruthie (pictured above with dad), enabling their West Point graduations and commissions as officers in the United States Army, where they currently serve as Captain and 1st Lieutenant, respectively. What he has learned from his family and life is that you advance yourself spiritually, mentally, physically and financially by sleeping less, working more and by endearing yourself to others to gain their respect and trust. His book gives credence to the adage, "The apple doesn't fall far from the tree". Through his life experiences and book authorship, he ended up a trusted educator just like his dad.
