Richard Kefford

Richard Kefford was born in Brighton in 1945. He left school at 16 to join the Royal Navy as an Artificer Apprentice. After marrying 13 years later, he left to follow an engineering career in industry. Nearing retirement he took a degree with the Open University, studied Geology and Creative Writing for 6 years, graduating with a BSc at the age of 68.

He enjoys exploring the world and its people through fiction, both short stories and Novels. He has also written non-fiction, drawing on the geology he learned at the OU and what he sees in his local area. He has also written a travel memoir in, following his trip to Nepal. More will follow about his trips to Kilimanjaro, Iceland and Greenland after leaving the Royal Navy.

He has been published on-line at Word Bohemia, through his local bookshop and won an international writing competition in 2014 run by Pan Macmillan.
