Silvia Socorro

Sílvia Socorro has graduated in Marine Biology in 1994 at University of Algarve and completed her MSc and PhD studies in the same institution in 1996 and 2001, respectively. After obtained the doctoral degree in Biological Sciences, Sílvia Socorro moved to the University of Beira Interior (UBI), where she is Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Health Sciences, and a senior researcher at the Health Sciences Research Centre (CICS-UBI) since 2002. In July 2013 Sílvia Socorro received the Habilitation degree in Biomedicine by UBI. Actually, she is the coordinator of the research group “Hormones and Inflammation in Health and Disease” and leads a team-work studying endocrinology, metabolism, and carcinogenesis of reproductive tissues.
