M. Gordon Brown

M. Gordon Brown is Principal of Space Analytics (spaceanalytics.com) in Wauconda (Chicago). He has written, consulted, taught and done research and expert witness work for 30 years on problems concerning design and the built environment. He began his career in city planning, moved from there to management consulting and then to architecture and real estate analysis while living and working in twelve cities on three continents.

He currently divides his work between scientific and scholarly writing on one hand and expert witness consulting and testimony on the other. His analysis of problem shopping centers was on American Public Radio, his expert witness testimony in a First Amendment public forum case was on Court TV and his articles have won awards in both real estate and architecture.

He was an Academic Fellow of the Urban Land Institute, a professor of architecture at three major American universities, Head of the Real Estate Program at Eindhoven University of Technology, and the Aldar and Academic Dean at the Higher Colleges of Technology in the UAE. A Member of Lambda Alpha Honorary Land Economics Society and Fellow of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors, Dr. Brown has a BS in Journalism from the University of Illinois, Urbana, an MBA from Penn’s Wharton School, MSc in Architecture from University College London and DTech from Ulster University.
