Jim Malloy

Jim Malloy is an award winning author and artist, a songwriter and producer.

He has written two Mom's Choice Gold Award winning children's books, entitled The Look Cookers and Return Of the Look Cookers; and under the pen name of Hugh James, has written a medical thriller, Pins & Needles and Lifeline, a oddball, coming of age mystery set in a hotel. He has several other novels in development.

Jim Malloy is an award-winning contemporary visual artist. His work is known for its vibrant colors and bold, abstract style. He is a resident artist at RPAC Gallery in Ridgefield, Connecticut and is a participating member of many art organizations and associations in the NYC area.

In addition, Malloy has produced several local television programs, directed and edited three promotional scenes for the book Let's Try This Again by Jordan Woodtke and played the role of the Game Warden in the full length creature feature, Cryptid, released in 2023 starring Nick Baroudi and Ellen Adair. Malloy has three film soundtrack credits for songs written for the Cryptid movie, including the theme song of the same name.

In addition, he has written and recorded the intro themes and cues for the narrative podcasts Protean City Comics and Outstanding. He is a prolific songwriter who plays guitar, piano and bass guitar. His original songs can be heard on Spotify, iTunes and many other online stores and streaming services. His debut album, Behind The Eight Ball is soon to be released on CD.
