JD Harper

“Leading a Revolution for Literacy!”

Growing up in a household that recognized the importance of reading, JD Harper followed in her father’s footsteps and became a voracious reader at a young age. Often found in her school library, the community library or her hometown bookstore, her pulse always quickened at the thought of the unknown adventure awaiting her within the pages of her literary selections. By her mid-20’s, JD discovered that her love of literature had planted the seed of a notion to one day write a book that would hopefully entertain people the way so many authors had entertained her throughout her life. Many years later she would write GLINT, a young adult action adventure fiction book.

A Physical Therapist and writer, JD enjoys educating people about the human body, how to stay active and avoid injury, as well as discussing the importance of reading literature and its impact on society. Outside of being a PT and writer, JD is active in the Chattanooga and surrounding communities. She sits on the Board of the Council for Alcohol and Drug Abuse Services, is a TNAchieves mentor, a volunteer for the Soddy Daisy Community Library and an organizer for Chattanooga Youth Gallery. She is currently working on the sequel to GLINT. You can visit her website at http://www.jd-harper.com/.
