Phebe Moore Simmons

Dr. Phebe Moore Simmons was born and raised in College Station, TX. Although she is the middle child of eleven children, Dr. Phebe will tell you that she is an only child, simply because her parents raised them as individuals.

Dr. Phebe's love for reading and writing began the moment she held a pencil and sheet of paper in her hands. She soon discovered that words create worlds. After a poetry writing unit in her 8th grade English class at A&M Consolidated Jr. High School, Dr. Phebe was hooked! She fell in love with rhyme, rhythm and the beat of syllables per line of text. Simple rhymes can tell complex stories on a single page, and that single page is where the magic happens for her poetic storytelling style.

Dr. Phebe enjoyed school and graduations so much that she kept going and going...and going. She took the scenic route, but eventually arrived at each destination, successfully completing B.A., M.Ed. and Ed.D. degrees in education.
