Jude Emmanuel

Haitian American author, Jude Emmanuel, has a career spanning two decades as a human services professional. He is the author of the novels I Heard Xavier Cry; Violin: Son of an Abuser, which mirrors intersectionality of domestic violence; The Novelist, an award-winning short story; the essays Women—our Heroes—No Apologies, The Audacity of Hope; and the recent story collection Colors of Feminism. At present, an adjunct faculty of gender studies,Jude Emmanuel is pursuing a doctoral degree in psychology. Jude Emmanuel is also co-founder of the Blackink imprint, a publishing platform that serves to establish diverse voices in literature. Jude Emmanuel has affirmed to have an earnest interest in exploring a multiplicity of human conditions through fictional letters. "I believe, to borrow a phrase from author and professor, Roxane Gay, ‘writing into the wound,’ can at times be the most effective way to foster awareness and empathy with respect to marginalized groups," Emmanuel has avowed.
