Mandy Blume

J. Whitehead quoted, “Children are the living message we send to a time we will not see.” At age 12, Mandy wanted to adopt a child. Learning that there were over 400,000 children in Foster Care was unthinkable! That dream took time through many amazing adventures with children filling up all the spaces.

At Cal Poly, Mandy graduated, got cooking and nutritional credentials but the important stuff was speaking life to children at home and in childrens’ homes! Each child can be empowered to be awesome because of a special gift they possess! Mandy found that to be great, you have to eat great!

Raising 4 children, fostering 10 children, adopting and loving many in homes today, her inspiration to reach out to the world and share, was through a little 2 year old foster boy with cancer who called her Mommy. After restoring his health with great food, during chemo, Dak was awarded the right to move back with his Bio-Dad. Surviving on junk food, his health quickly diminished and within six months Dak passed away at four years old in Mandy's arms. His last words inspire her today.

Life comes with some powerful lessons that can be embraced to change a world in need of hope. With this experience, knowledge, and inspiration, Blume continues to help kids and families through www.RealFoodRecovery.org and foster homes. Join her to build bridges between us, blow the roof off fear, prejudice, and hate and find ways to recover our children and families.
