Stephen T. Fife

Dr. Stephen Fife is an award-winning scholar whose research focuses on couple and family therapy. He is an Associate Professor and Program Director in the Couple, Marriage, and Family Therapy Program at Texas Tech University. He is a Clinical Fellow of the American Association of Marriage and Family Therapy (AAMFT) and member of the National Council on Family Relations (NCFR). He has published and presented his research nationally and internationally on couple therapy, the process of healing from infidelity, therapeutic change, and the foundations of effective clinical practice.

In addition to his books and articles on marriage and couple therapy, he was the lead author of an article about an innovative meta-model of psychotherapy called the Therapeutic Pyramid, for which he and his co-authors were awarded the Article of the Year by the Journal of Marital and Family Therapy. Dr. Fife also maintains a private practice in Lubbock, TX and lectures extensively in the community on topics related to couple and family relationships. He is happily married and is the father of two sons. He enjoys sports and the outdoors (especially fly fishing).
